First and foremost I would like to say that I am NOT writing this review to give a google rate for this clinic or Prof Weerasooriya. In short - there are no number of Stars or words of praise that I can give Prof Weerasooriya and his medical team for healing my son and giving him a new lease on life!My son was diagnosed with WPW several years ago after feeling slight discomfort and heart palpitations. This settled on its own at the time. We consulted a cardiologist several weeks later and underwent a stress test. Diagnosis confirmed WPW, however was told this was nothing to be concerned about, as he was a physically fit and active person and 30 minutes on the treadmill hardly raised his heart rate. This all changed last year when he suffered from another AF episode and was treated to an emergency cardioversion to restore his heart rhythm. This was the start of our journey of healing with Prof. Weerasooriya. From day 1 of our first consultation with Prof. Weerasooriya, his front office team has been nothing short of spectacular. They rang ahead of time to obtain all previous records and history of treatment - when we were unable to produce this, they contacted both the previous cardiologist, our GP and SJOG hospital for all records on our behalf.During his first SVT ablation procedure, Prof. Weerasooriya identified a potential risk of damage to the hearts normal pathway and my son could potentially require a pacemaker for the rest of his life. Prof. Weerasooriya did not proceed with the AF ablation and chose instead to give my son a prescription of twice daily flaccanide and the option of waiting for his co-researcher and mentor from France to travel to Perth and perform the procedure. Prof. Weerasooriya genuinely cares and will ensure his patients receives the best of the best treatment.Recently my son had forgotten to take his daily flaccanide medication, and suffered another episode of AF. This time however the ECG readings showing the attack was very very close to becoming fatal. Prof. Weerasooriya immediately scheduled the SVT ablation procedure the following week. After almost 3 hours in surgery, I received a call from Prof. Weerasooriya - his first words the procedure went well

It has been a privilege of being a patient of you for my AF.Your kind, caring manner and expertise has been exceptional. I will only trust you with my AF problem. The first I have ever heard of Atrial Fibrillation (AF) was in late 2017 when I had a TIA (mini stroke). Throughout 2018 I went through a barrage of tests, saw numerous doctors, specialists and cardiologists who confirmed I had paroxysmal AF and would need to remain on medications and learn to live with AF for the rest of my life. This played havoc with my surfing and sporting lifestyle, I thought my life was over. Luckily I found the Heart Rhythm Clinic!Since my first meeting with Professor Rukshen Weerasooriya (Ruky) and his team I knew I did not have to live with AF and there were options available to me. Ruky and his team made me feel like an individual and not just a patient through their ongoing patience, care, outstanding knowledge of AF, current and developing treatments and procedures. At the beginning of 2019 I had an ablation with immediate success, no more medication except blood thinners which I was still not too keen on taking. In 2020, Ruky advised me of a new procedure that was developed to remove the reliance on blood thinners. Ruky in partnership with cardiac surgeon Dr Pragnesh Joshi was offering this to some AF patients. Fortunately I was a candidate as my AF had been suppressed. In October 2020 I had the Atriclip surgery and went off blood thinners immediately after. Whilst in hospital Ruky visited me on several occasions and his team made ongoing calls to ensure all was good. However at the beginning of 2021 Ruky advised me that I needed a touch up ablation which was done and I am happy to say NO AF and NO MEDICATIONS.There are options for AF sufferers. I believe Ruky and the Heart Rhythm Clinic team are the leaders in dealing with AF in Perth WA.All I can say in THANK YOU to Ruky, his surgical team, Alyssa and Marlies.

clinicians are competent, but the admin needs improvements. They didn't disclose the full cost and we were asked to pay more after the examination. It seems that the admin staff aren't receiving an appropriate training or the system they have is not working. Nonetheless, it was not a pleasant experience overall. I wish you all the best.

I had the distinct privilege of becoming a patient of Professor Weerasooriya in 2008. I was referred to Professor Weerasooriya by a leading Perth Cardiologist who advised me that as a standard cardiologist he and his cardiologist colleagues had limited knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary vein ablation procedure and that the appropriate person for advice and treatment of my condition was Professor Weerasooriya a cardiologist with additional training as an Electrocardio Physiologist . I was immediately impressed with the self effacing manner of Professor Weerasooriya. He treated me in 2008 . I have been in excellent cardiac health ever since .I take no tablets whatsoever and walk 50 kilometres each week.Four of my friends have been unsuccessfully treated by other general cardiologists. I told them to go to Prof Weerasooriya.Professor Weerasooriya subsequently treated them all successfully .Professor Weerasooriya is simply the best there is .If you should read this Professor my family and I offer my most heartfelt thanks for your kindness compassion and incredible skill.Jock Barker 100% fit thanks to you and tablet free

Booked with this clinic a few months back after suffering continous daily palpataions / ectopic beats for the last 5 years and getting worse. They are dibilitating both physically and more importantly mentally and have destroyed my quality of life. After the monitor tests my results were simply discussed with me by the reception staff over the phone! I was told there is nothing that could be done about them and my appointment which I was desperatly waiting for to discuss my results and concerns with the cardiologist was cancelled! Results showed around 2500 ectopics in 24hrs. This may not seem much for reception staff or doctors but when your the actual person experiencing them in your chest, having your life controlled by them and desperatly wanting to talk to a professional about your situation its a whole different story. I found the whole process very disapointing, unprofessional and extremely upsetting. I have seen various cardiologists in Perth over the last few years and all have told me to just get used it and try to live with them along with two GPs and two Cardiologists in the past prescribing me with SSRIs / antidepressants. I am a middle aged, extremely fit, smoke and alcohol free motivatinal speaker who loves life and FAR from depressed and know when something is not right with my body. Recently I had done a lot of reseach on other specialist cardiologist in Perth and organised to visit Dr Andrew Liu at Murdoch. After lengthy discussions with Dr Liu regarding my lifestyle he told me that there was DEFINITELY something that could be done. It has been 10 weeks since my appointment and happy to say 95%-98% completely free of ectopics for the first time in 5 years without any medical procedures and also off all medications now. I feel as if this man has given me my life back when others just saw me as another number and your just left to suffer silently. I am more than happy to discuss how we went about reducing my symptoms almost completely as I know there is a lot of others in my previous situation suffering on a daily basis.

In 2014I was diagnosed with Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation. I was referred to Professor Rukshen Weerasooriya following an unsuccessful cardioversion. I underwent several Catheter Ablations between 2014 to2018 in his care.In 2021, after suffering continuous years of 'difficult' AF Rukshen recommended HYCASA surgery he recently introduced into Australia Cardiology. His supporting team included a range of highly skilled colleagues trained in arrhythmia conditions.Rukshen suggested weight loss, cardio and weightbearing exercises prior to surgery.Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr Pragnesh Joshi performed the Hybrid Surgery. His expertise and skill enabled me to experience a short period of sustained sinus rhythm for the first time in 7years. Post surgery questions were clearly explained and follow up queries answered by polite and friendly Heart Rhythm Clinic Staff.Prof Weerasooriya and his catheter team conducted the Catheter Ablation procedure. Within two months post surgery I started to experience improvements in my AF with less frequent and shorter episodes.Since the surgery, six months ago, I am now AF free. I no longer take medications and living an enhanced quality of life with new zest. I have increased physical energy and vitality, improved cognitive function, more accurate mental clarity and improved positive mental and emotional well being.I recommend anyone suffering Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation to consider the HYCASA procedure. Under the management of Rukshen's skilled team patients should feel confident in his care as he places patient safety, well being and and their AF condition at the forefront.Cheryl B.
